Winter Games in Vancouver 2010
On the 2nd of July 2003 the IOC decided at its 115th session in Prague, that Vancouver on the Canadian Westcoast will host the winter games in the 30th olympiad. The games in Vancouver will take place February 12-28, 2010.
Originally four cities were accepted by the IOC as candidates for hosting the games: Vancouver, Salzburg, Pyeongchang and Bern. In September 2002 Bern withdrew its application and in the choice amongst the remaining three Vancouver won by a narrow margin against Pyeongchang from South Korea.

Summer Games in London 2012
The olympic summer games in 2012 is held in London from the 27th of July to the 12th of August.
This decision was made on the 117th IOC session July 6, 2005, in Singapore, where London was elected in a tight race against Paris. The other candidates were Madrid, Moscow and New York.
It will be the third time that London is the host city of the olympic summer games as the games in 1908 and 1948 were also held in London.
